Inner Peace

Inner peace….I mention it often at the end of my classes. Inner peace to me, means that place inside of your heart and your head where you have a deep sense of calm, where you feel safe and where you know that everything is going to be alright. When your inner peace is in tact, you need to only stop, in the middle of some sort of chaos and close your eyes and breath a few deep breaths, and then you can proceed without losing your shit, without breaking down……perhaps you let an F-bomb pass through your mind, but no one else around you was really privy to that.

Access to your inner peace is something to strive to have daily, and there are a few ways you can make this happen. Here are my suggestions, and the techniques that work for me.

Find a space where you can sit back, or lie flat, and close your eyes. Then, ask yourself this question, is my inner peace in tact? Do I feel that I can access it during the challenging moments that come about each day, each week?

Your answer will determine how you move forward.

If you answered yes, or no…you will then see what it could be attached to. Here are some questions to consider:

~ How has my sleep been? Is it consistent?  Do I get 6 or more hours per night?  Is it peaceful?
~ How is my food intake? Am I eating enough? am I eating too much? Do I have a good balance of carbs/fat/protein? Do I have too many hours in between eating, or perhaps not enough?
~ Am I properly hydrated?
~ Do I need a break from social media, comparing my life and myself to others, a break from my cell phone?
~ Do I need to connect with nature?
~ Do I need to forgive myself for something? Or, perhaps do I need to forgive someone else?
~ Do I need to connect or disconnect with family & friends?

Once you have some answers, get on it!!!! Make the changes to fight for that beautiful place that exists inside all of us. It is a priceless gift to give to yourself. You are worth it.
